A/N : I am aiming to write a series of drabbles or ficlets set in my original fic ‘verse for weekly prompts. This is the sequel to Missing, in which Mrs Henderson’s spaniel made the mistake of crossing the Veil.

Aiden smiled. “You bear my token, my lady. It would be churlish to deny you passage.”

“And you’re never churlish,” I muttered.

His smile widened, bright with malice. “If I was churlish I would return the wretched animal in pieces.”

“You like dogs.”

“I do not like Mrs Henderson.”

There wasn’t anything I could say to that, so I just stepped through the Veil.

Rain soaked me immediately. Aiden had obviously been using Glamour to conceal his wet clothing.

But the soft ground would make the dog easier to track. Asking Aiden for help certainly wouldn’t be a good idea.
