“I’m sure you used to be a cat in another life,” Lorraine commented, as her boyfriend moved easily around the flat in almost total darkness.
“Bloody good job with dodgy electrics like yours,” he said, resetting the fuses for the second time that night.
“The landlord’s sending someone round next week.”
“Good, or I might have to have words with the tight-fisted old bastard.”
Her landlord would get the wiring fixed. She had no doubt about that.
He’d once muttered to her, ‘That one’s got darkness in his soul’, and he’d meant it.
Not everyone saw Niall through her eyes.
