“You’ve got five minutes then I want a sit-rep,” Ryan ordered.
Stephen, Abby, Finn and Blade stepped through the anomaly and were promptly hit by a blast of icy air.
Stephen cast around quickly for tracks in the snow. “Here!”
The four of them stared down at a set of three tracks, passing the anomaly on the west.
“Mammoth and some kind of big cat,” Stephen said. “Not sure what the third one is. Abby?”
“Sloth. We had one at the zoo.”
After a moment of disbelief-laden silence, they returned to their own time.
“Nothing to report,” Stephen said blithely.
