Summary : Written for [livejournal.com profile] tolkien100 challenge Too Good To Be True

The honeyed words rolled over him, sounding good, tasting good, even smelling good.

How could simple words say so much?

How could they warm the heart, soothe the mind, and caress the body all at once?

The comfort of a mother. The praise of a father. The passion of a lover.

They slipped across his skin like… a snake.

A snake with forked tongue and sharp venom-filled teeth.

That image drove the words from his mind and he broke free of their silken hold.

His mind now his own, he knew the honeyed words were nothing more than a trap.

That's a wonderful way to imagine the seductive power of Saruman's voice, and the strength it takes to recognize it.

That is a really interesting look at how Eomer perceived that moment!
