"Will it involve biscuits?" Connor asked, warily.

"No biscuits or confectionary of any sort," Nick promised, almost, but not quite managing to keep a straight face.

"It'll be fruit, won't it?" groaned the student. "I've seen what you lot do with fruit."

"No fruit," said Stephen, blue eyes wide and guileless.

"No biscuits, cakes, or fruit? Honest, guys, I really don't think I could handle anything sweet right now."

"No biscuits, cakes, fruit or anything even remotely sweet. Now will you stop worrying and come to bed? You can trust us ......."

After all, it wasn't a lie. They just hadn't mentioned the vegetables.

There was no end to the possibilities when vegetables entered the equation.
