Ryan stared down at a pile of kit requisitions that were attempting to shag an even larger pile of reports, clearly intending to produce bastard offspring destined to haunt his desk for ever.
A nervous shuffle of feet in the doorway drew his attention.
Kermit was standing there looking uneasy.
Ryan sighed. “What have you shot?”
Looking apologetic, the youngest soldier in the squad held out a holiday form.
Ryan read it and raised his eyebrows. “A cruise?”
“Free in return for Cara teaching some art classes.”
Ryan scrawled his signature on the bottom.
The lad had earned a break.
