I really like this! I've been curious about Stringer's backstory for ages, and it's great - particularly the common ground with Abby. They've both come from tough places. They are the cutest; I love how he wants her to meet people who have essentially become family to him, and her pleasure at that. Of course they'll love her, she's bloody brilliant.

It's also great to see more of Abby at Farnley Hall, doing what she does best - caring for a bunch of marooned and hapless creatures probably sometimes including Stringer. ;)

Stringer had distributed a few choice epithets to all and sundry when he’d found out, but both of the assistant keepers had cheerfully told him they were more scared of Abby than they were of him, which had put him firmly in his place.

Ahahaha - I should bloody well think so!
