The footprints went straight up to the anomaly and disappeared.
“Bloody kids,” Nick muttered.
“Come off it, Cutter, you’d have done the same at that age. Or any age.”
Nick grinned at Stephen. “Maybe. OK, let’s see where they’ve gone.”
On the other side of time, they found a fertile plain dominated by tall cycads, spreading ginkgo, massive horsetails and luscious green ferns.
Ryan’s men fanned out in their usual defensive formation, hands gripping their weapons against the magnetic drag of the anomaly.
“When are we, Professor?” their captain asked.
“Triassic. Probably.”
“Dangerous?”
“Almost definitely, so let’s find those kids.”
