“Not seen tracks like these before.” Stephen sat back on his heels, staring at the prints in the sand.
Human-like, but with the big toe stuck out at a 45-degree angle.
“Hominin of some sort,” Nick commented. “But not a print I’ve seen before.”
Connor bounced excitedly. “We’ve found a missing link!”
“We haven’t found it yet, laddie.”
A shaggy, brown-furred figure shambled out of the bushes.
“You were saying, prof?”
“Sorry, guys, are you lot filming Doctor Who, or summat?” the missing link asked, in an unmistakeable Manchester accent.
“Independent production,” Claudia said.
“Cool. Where’re you from?”
“Impossible Pictures.”
