The contractions were getting closer together.
She had been counting the intervals between them for the last hour… or what she thought had been an hour.
Marking the passing of time was harder since her watch had been smashed in an altercation with a juvenile ankylosaur.
Just breathe. Slowly. Evenly. Don’t panic.
A sudden flood of wetness down her thighs confirmed her worst fears.
There was no stopping this now.
She drew in a long, shuddering breath, then gasped in pain.
Connor put his hand on her shoulder. “Abs, are you OK?”
“No. It’s too early, Conn. It’s too early!”
