Summary : Written for [livejournal.com profile] primeval100 Challenge 266, To The Ends of the Earth

Travelling through anomalies could hardly be described as a safe pastime.

On one memorable occasion, she’d walked through an anomaly into the Cretaceous amidst a maelstrom of fire, a hell of burning forests and dying creatures.

She hadn’t stayed long.

The anoxic waters of the Permian had been less dramatic, but when countless volcanoes started to add their twopennorth to the mix she’d beaten a hasty retreat from there as well.

Maybe the next anomaly would bring her more luck, but somehow she doubted it.

She’d now been to the ends of the earth rather too often for her liking.

Nice look at Helen's travels. The anomalies are a little like Russian Roulette.

Nice look at Helen's travels. It wasn't exactly all she was expecting it to be.

Helen is such a brave woman, especially because she's defying it all on her own.

Was reading the comments and now I'm imagining Helen next turning up at a Pontins in Camber Sands and groaning very loudly ;)

I like the many ends of the world and how they're used here.

yes, there are definitely some time periods where even Helen doesn't want to stay too long.

You have to feel a little sorry for Helen - if she's meeting the ends of the earth that often it would drive anyone round the bend! Let's hope her luck with anomalies improves!

Very atmospheric drabble!
