Title : The Blast of War
Author : fredbassett
Fandom : Primeval
Rating : 12

Spoilers : None
Summary : Written for the Primeval100 challenge 306, Shakespeare
A mortar shell splintered rock above them, Finn winced.
Predictably, it was followed a moment later by the staccato burst of an AK47.
No one jumped up to return fire. They were running low on ammunition and the Taliban fucking knew it.
If they didn’t make a break for it soon, they’d be dead meat.
Their young officer was straight out of Sandhurst and as wet as a Sunday afternoon in Southport. He knew perfectly well that whatever decision he made was going to cost lives.
“A tenner says the fucking Rupert’ll be quoting Shakespeare in a minute,” Finn muttered.

(I had to look up Finn on Denial. Three pages of original characters. Had no idea quite how fleshed-out the Primeval world had become. It's great.)

Date: 2013-03-20 06:04 pm (UTC)Five years or more of writing plotty action fic between us all means we've ended up with quite a cast of supporting characters.
Finn is actually one of the soldiers we saw in S1, or at least his face was. The rest is made up.
Thanks for reading!
