“What’s he like?”

The latest bright-eyed and bushy-tailed probationer straight out of Hendon consulted her notebook and opened her mouth to start reading.

DS Ian Gordon waved her into silence. “I don’t want to know his inside leg measurement. Just give me your gut feel.”

She closed the small black notebook. “He’s worried sick. I don’t think he had anything to do with her disappearance.”

“That’ll make a nice change,” Gordon muttered. “OK, shove him in the interview room and get him a drink.”

“I thought torture was banned, Sarge?”

He grinned at her. “He doesn’t have to drink it…”

This was a nice little insight into what Helen left Cutter when she disappeared, or maybe this is what happened after a creature, and before Lester's machinations to retrieve him. It has me thinking. Great :)

If only her gut could tell the rest of the story, it could have saved everyone a lot of heartache!

Very nice use of the prompt - 'bright-eyed and bushy-tailed probationer is such a great summing up of a character - Primeval has made me love OCs. Poor Nick.

I would like to know Nick's inside leg measurement! *slaps self for misbehaving*

Wonderful angsty look at the hell Nick went through and so well captures the OCs in just 100 words.

Oh, clever! It would have been so hard for poor Nick when Helen up and vanished. I love the bit about the drink being torture!
