Title : 300
Author : fredbassett
Fandom : Primeval
Rating : 12
Characters : Ryan, Connor, Sarah
Disclaimer : Not mine, no money made, don’t sue.
Spoilers : None
Summary : Written for the Primeval100 challenge 330, “It’s all Greek to me.”
Ryan looked down on a narrow strip of land flanked by mountains on one side and the sea on the other.
He didn’t need the display on Connor’s latest piece of technical wizardry to tell him exactly when or where they were.
Arrows darkened the sky and the soldier forced himself to watch them land.
Beside him, Connor had tears in his eyes and Sarah was crying openly.
With a silent nod to the brave men now dying by the hundred, Ryan turned away and quietly ordered the others to follow him.
Beneath an azure sky, history marched relentlessly on.

Date: 2013-08-31 09:49 am (UTC)Oh, very powerful, especially Ryan's reaction and the end line.
The battle of Thermopylae, I'm guessing. That general's quote about fighting in the shade has always stayed with me.
