“How was I to know?” Cutter sounded truculent, but Lester could see a grin tugging at the professor’s lips.
“The bad wig?” Lester hazarded.
“It was apparently the man’s own hair,” Jenny commented.
“His own hair? In that case, I think Professor’s Cutter’s response was wholly proportionate to the offence.”
“Having bad hair is not – yet – a thumpable offence, James.”
“Get the man to sign the Official Secrets Act, that’ll make him feel important. Matters of national security and all that nonsense.”
“If I have to resort to the compensation budget, I won’t be pleased. No more thumping actors, Nick!
