“Watch yourself, boss!”
The warning came approximately 30 seconds too late. The young ankylosaur’s clubbed tail propelled Captain Stringer straight through a hedge and into a large briar rose growing up the outside of a thatched cottage.
The cottage’s owner, an elderly woman who looked like everyone’s favourite granny, asked in concern, “Are you all right, dear?”
Stringer said, “Ouch.”
She smiled benignly. “Don’t mind me, dear. My husband was in the forces.”
The resulting string of creative epithets earned him ten out of ten from the team and a large slice of ginger cake from the amused old lady.
