Leek’s scream filled his own ears.

The predators advanced from all sides, some scurrying down the walls, some about to launch themselves at him from on high.

He had lost control of them and he was about to die.

His bladder loosened and he felt a warm rush down his legs.

A deafening bang and a blinding flash split the air.

Strong hands were dragging him away.

A door slammed behind them.

Choking and coughing, Leek looked up into the face of one of his mercenaries and asked, “Why?”

“You pay my wages.”

Leek didn’t even know the man’s name.
