“Shoot to kill, that makes a refreshing change, I was beginning to feel like a social worker.”
Ryan’s rifle was, as ever, a comforting weight in in hands as they crossed the field towards the woods. It made a pleasant change to be able to take his men off the tight leach they’d been on up to now.
But he knew that if Nick Cutter had authorised deadly force without a qualm, then whatever they were up against was going to be a problem.
Five minutes later he’d lost the first of his men.
Their problems had only just begun.
