Lester stepped into the underground carpark, the rifle clutched firmly in his hands.
The ARC was under attack again, but this time he was better prepared.
The creature was standing on top of his brand-new car, claws no doubt scratching the paintwork.
He called out, giving it fair warning. He was a reasonable man, after all.
All it did was jump around more, doing even worse damage.
He pressed the stock of the rifle to his shoulder, making sure he had the creature firmly in the sights.
He’d practised on the firing range. He could do this.
And he did.
