Becker grinned. “She’s going to love this!”

The small tiara sparkled, each piece of faceted glass catching and reflecting the sunlight like dozens of multi-coloured mini anomalies.

Their roughy-toughy daughter had a passion for bling and had started wearing her ever-expanding collection of tiaras to nursery.

When one of the others had unwisely done the puppy equivalent of taking the piss, Kay had promptly started a fight, aided and abetted by Alex and Marcus.

Mrs Newman hadn’t been impressed. Neither had the other pup’s parents.

To show solidarity with their daughter, Becker and Ryan promptly bought her yet another tiara.
