“Complete bunch of bloody Neanderthals!” Lester slammed his laptop shut. Half the room jumped, and Connor winced at the maltreatment of an innocent computer. “That budget proposal was wholly reasonable.”
“Stop stereotyping,” Nick told him. “Neanderthals had a highly developed society.”
“They cared for the elderly and the disabled,” Abby said.
“They produced the earliest cave art,” Stephen added.
Connor chimed in with, “And buried their dead.”
“Their stone tools were superbly worked.” Nick again.
Lester threw up his hands in surrender. “I apologise to the Neanderthals. The finance committee are total wankpuffins. Is that better?”
“Sounds fair,” Nick acknowledged.
