“Can I feed the ducks, mum?”
“Bread’s not good for them, Amy.”
Amy rolled her eyes with best eight-year-old attitude. “I know that. They like sausages, though.”
“Ducks don’t eat sausages.”
“These do. Uncle George gave me the ones Aunty Annie was going to throw away.”
Amy dragged her mother over to the ornamental lake in the middle of the park and tossed a handful of sausage chunks into the water.
The two large ducks that flapped over didn’t look anything like the others, and their teeth were a lot bigger, too.
They weren’t on Amy’s mum’s WhatsThatDuck app, either.
