The only mallorn tree west of the mountains and east of the sea.

Every year when the blossom blooms, Sam Gamgee sits at the foot of the young tree and remembers the time he left the Shire.

Sam does not regret his journey, although he wishes he could take the pain from Frodo, leaving him whole and happy again, rather than pale and diminished.

When the time comes for Frodo to leave, Sam feels like his heart is breaking

He takes solace in his wife, his children, and his tree.

And every year, he sits with his memories and smiles.
