Cutter stared down at the bowl. “I’ve seen week old porridge that’s a healthier colour.”
Stephen grimaced. “I’ve tasted nicer dung.”
Ryan winced at the memory.
“We ate better in the Cretaceous,” Connor declared, replacing the whine with a mutinous expression.
“Are you impugning the quality of Downing Street catering?” Lester asked urbanely.
Claudia smiled. “Yes, James, we most certainly are.”
“More Vichyssoise soup?” the server asked, clearly not expecting anyone to say yes.
