Summary : Written for the Primeval100 challenge 118, Meat and Two Veg.

The warm, rich aroma of roast beef suffused the farmhouse kitchen.

Vicky headed straight for the roast potatoes; her stepfather helped himself to parsnips, and her father and his lover squabbled happily like a couple of schoolboys over slices of meat.

Amanda Thornton watched the scene in amusement and then took her stuffed mushrooms out of the Aga’s second oven.

A large tray of Yorkshire puddings was soon left bare, and fresh peas and carrots from her vegetable garden disappeared almost as quickly.

Sunday lunches didn’t get much better than this, reflected Amanda, finally at peace with her extended family.
