“I told you when you joined that this operation didn’t need a second maverick, Mr Quinn.”

“You did, Guv’nor.”

“Then how do you explain all this?” asked Lester, pointing at the Staff Record Sheet on the desk. “One of those incidents involved a gerbil!”

“In my defence, sir, it was already dead.”

“It was also frozen, Mr Quinn, but I rather think that’s beside the point. However, while we’re on the subject, I fail to understand why it ended up there in the first place.”

“Captain Becker wanted to complete his kink bingo card, sir. And I lost the bet.”

The challenge I was given by the two ladies involved getting a gebil up Danny's arse. I don't approve of animal cruelty, so it had to be a dead gerbil. And unless it was frozen solid, I didn't think the insertion would work. Then I had to find a reason for doing it. Um, is that too much detail? *sheepish grin*
