“Would you … um … like a drink after work, maybe, that’s if you’re … not doing anything else … ?” Connor stuttered uncomfortably to a halt.

Stephen had already told him that he wasn’t his type, so why had he even been daft enough to ask?

He opened his mouth again to say forget it, then Stephen forestalled him with a smile.

“That’d be great. Meet you in the Black Swan after I’ve taken Cutter’s tutorial group for him?”

Connor was conscious of a bright red blush suffusing his face, but he didn’t care. Stephen had said yes. That was all that mattered.
