The anomaly had opened in the middle of a field of sheep.

A head-count, with the aid of their bemused owner, revealed that ten of them had decided to investigate whether the grass was any greener on the other side of the big shiny thing that had appeared in their midst.

Led by Ryan and his men, the team followed the curious animals through the anomaly into almost total darkness; lit only by a myriad stars shining in a black velvet sky.

“Oh wow!” Connor murmured, staring upwards.

Stephen grinned and handed him a torch. “Stop stargazing and start wool-gathering.”
