The old ARC had been a monstrosity of metal and glass but Abby missed it more than she’d expected.
The new ARC was more of an underground bunker and no amount of private money could disguise that.
She wasn’t happy with the conditions in the menagerie, but at least the creatures were safe – for the moment at least – thanks to Lester’s intervention.
A chirruping noise drew her attention as Rex circled the room before settling on one of the tables, his head cocked to one side as he stared up at her.
Abby smiled. He was alive, that was what mattered most.
