Summary : Written for Primeval100 Challenge 212, Flowers
Helen tossed a sheaf of lecture notes onto the other papers strewn across her desk.
The entire third year seemed to have mislaid their brains that morning.
And Nick had quite clearly forgotten her birthday again. Not that she would give him the satisfaction of letting him know she cared.
A small slab of sandy-coloured rock nestling inside some of tissue paper on her desk caught her attention.
Five delicate petals surrounded a darker central circle.
Porana oeningensis from the Miocene.
The rare fossil flower brought a smile to her face, wiping away the memory of the previous night’s row.

That could relate to the amount of Cleavage of Doom that was on display... *G*
I'd love a fossil flower too! That's a great gift from Nick!
