The sound of expensive equipment being broken into small pieces was wholly unmistakeable.
Lester stalked out onto the balcony and stared down into the atrium.
Connor did his best to surreptitiously kick the football under an intact computer terminal.
He took a step backwards and something crunched under his foot.
The mammoth curled its trunk around Connor’s waist and carefully moved him sideways by a metre. The huge creature then plucked a broom out of the hands of a startled cleaner and started to sweep up the debris.
At least the mammoth could be relied on to tidy up properly.
