Summary : Written for primeval100 Challenge 250, Past Challenges for Challenge 42, Writers Challenge, because I have never written Emily before.
A/N : I have now written at least one drabble for every single prompt. Go me!

She pulled up the collar of her jacket against the bitter wind, threw more wood on the fire and then turned to stare out into the darkness, allowing her night vision to return.

Beside her was a pile of stones to keep any curious predators at bay if the fire failed to discourage them.

The hilt of the long knife was a comforting weight in her hand.

In her old life she had been nothing more than Henry’s wife.

Here she could be anything she wanted, go anywhere she wanted.

She preferred the struggle for survival to being a chattel.
