Nick fervently wished the troop of clog-dancing butterflies in his stomach would finish their encore and leave him in peace.

“Relax. You’ll be fine.”

“I’m giving my Inaugural bloody Lecture, not talking to a bunch of first years,” Nick retorted. “And half of the sodding audience think I’m too young for the job.”

“Half of the sodding audience are bloody idiots.”

The look of pride on Stephen’s face as Nick stepped up to the lectern was enough to calm his nerves.

Stephen’s belief in him meant more to Nick than anything. And tonight he’d make sure his lover knew that.
