Lester prided himself on knowing every member of staff in the building.

It was therefore particularly irksome that he couldn’t bring to mind the name of the latest addition to Becker’s ever-growing security team.

It was also particularly unfortunate as the man was about to be subjected to an aerial bombardment.

It took Abby’s pet a little while to get used to newcomers.

“Rex!”

The lizard changed direction in mid-air and he could have sworn the wretched creature was smirking at him.

The soldier turned around. “Yes, sir?”

Lester smiled and held his hand out. “Welcome to the ARC, Rex.”
