primeval100 challenge 274, Running Late.
He had never liked funerals.
He hated the way people discussed the deceased in slightly hushed tones, the old phrase ‘speak no ill of the dead’ hanging in the air like the sword of Damocles.
His own funeral was no different.
Eventually, it became too much to bear.
Stephen stepped out from behind a tree.
“My Gran always said I’d be late for my own funeral,” he remarked.
It wasn’t the most original of lines, but it certainly served its purpose.
The only person who didn’t look stunned was the vicar but she’d never seen him before in her life.

Lovely snippet of fix it, and Stephen getting to see his own funeral without being a floaty spirit!

Date: 2012-08-07 09:06 pm (UTC)Also, it's a bit mean because all your friends and loved ones would be angsting and grieving, but you so would reveal yourself at your funeral, just for the reaction!
