Summary : Written for [livejournal.com profile] primeval100 Challenge 285, Frustrated

The mammoth paced the darkened room, head low, its trunk swinging from side to side between the two massive tusks.

It had mapped its surroundings a hundred times while Lester watched from the balcony.

He hated keeping the creature in such conditions but his negotiations for a better environment were still being blocked at every turn by Burton.

The man was against spending money on anything that did not further his own research.

But Lester owed the mammoth his life and that was something he would never forget.

“Not much longer, I promise,” he murmured before turning away in frustration.

Lester never forgets a debt, but Philip hasn't learned yet that Lester also never forgets a slight...

I do like Lester and the Mammoth *g*

Frustration from both Lester and Monty. A sad picture that evokes.

A really original use of the prompt.

Lester and the mammoth make a great couple. It's one of my favourite moments.

Bloody Burton!

Poor caged mammoth. I think Lester might tell himself he's only repaying a favour when he promises to help.

Aww, Lester is a big softie. Meanwhile, Burton is a big, selfish meanie. Very nice!

Go Lester! The shows apparent ignorance of animal welfare does trouble me.
