Summary : Written for the Primeval100 Challenge 286, Fossils
Stephen checked the coffee machine. Nick liked his coffee as black as Satan’s heart and strong enough to corrode steel.
He tipped in two spoonfuls of sugar. They were promptly assimilated by the mini oil slick that crawled sluggishly out of the glass jug.
As an afterthought, he added a slug of whisky.
Nick was going to need it when he heard the news Stephen was about to deliver.
“Furmston’s been made Dean,” he said casually.
Nick’s eyebrows immediately emulated his hair and shot straight up.
“The man’s a complete fossil!”
Stephen sighed. More whisky was going to be needed.
