Lester stared around the room and smiled.

Lady Elizabeth Cotton certainly knew how to throw a party, but her taste in ornaments left quite a lot to be desired, and he wouldn’t be surprised if the tree collapsed under the weight of the decorations.

“They’ve got garden gnomes in the house,” Lyle exclaimed in a voice that had been honed to perfection on a parade ground.

“They’re antique Santa Claus’.”

“They’re bloody garden gnomes!”

Lester finished a glass of excellent vintage champagne and quickly snagged another one from a passing waiter.

It was clearly going to be a long evening.

Oh, Lyle...**shakes head** He just tells it like it is and I think Lester enjoys it cuz he knows he partner's foibles and brought him along anyway so, yeah, Lester knew what he was getting himself into. lol
