“No trailing wires in the atrium?”
“All properly taped down at last.”
“No tottering towers of books impeding progress across Professor Cutter’s office?”
“Finally reduced to manageable proportions.”
“No exotic species tunnelling their way through the fabric of the building?”
“Seemingly not.”
“No fire-doors propped open by fire-extinguishers?”
“None that I was able to discover.”
“How splendid…”
“But there was the matter of the minor conflagration in the recreation room…”
Lester sighed. He knew it had been too good to last.
