Abby sat outside the small cave that had been their home for the last six months.

This was her favourite time of the day; the quiet time when they weren’t running away from something big and scary, or trying to make sure they wouldn’t go to bed hungry. Some days they were successful in that aim and some days they weren’t.

Today had been a good day. Nothing had tried to eat them and they both had full bellies.

She squeezed Connor’s hand and smiled, wondering if they would ever see the once-familiar constellations of their own time ever again.
