“I shall be unavailable for the next half hour, Miss Wickes,” Lester said, smiling politely at his assistant.
He sat back down and watched the figures displayed on his computer screen with interest.
He didn’t make a habit of playing the stock market in work time, but the occasional indulgence would do no harm.
Lester waited until the stock in one particular company had reached a dizzying height from which it was bound to topple any moment and then called his broker.
“Time to sell,” he instructed, taking full advantage of the so called witching hour on that day’s trading.
