“Which star is nearest the Earth?” Connor asked.
Emily thought a moment then answered confidently, “The Sun.”
“Who was the longest serving Prime Minister of Britain in the 20th Century?”
That took more thought, but eventually Emily said, “Margaret Thatcher.”
Connor grinned approvingly. Her general knowledge was definitely improving.
“In what year was the Great Exhibition held in London?”
“1851! I was eleven at the time.”
“Which group had a UK hit in 1974 with ‘When Will I See You Again’?”
“The Six Degrees.”
Connor shook his head.
Maybe Emily wasn’t quite ready for the pub quiz team, after all.
