“What the hell is it?” Becker demanded.
The bundle of fur shook itself, sending drops of water flying out in a wide arc.
“Wet,” commented Connor. The statement was accurate but – in Becker’s opinion –unhelpful.
“Hairy,” Abby added, with equal accuracy.
“Miserable?” one of his soldiers hazarded.
Becker wondered if slapping all three of them would be considered unprofessional.
The creature sneezed loudly and all its hair stood on end. It looked so mournful that even Becker was starting to feel sorry for it.
He wondered if Abby’s hairdryer would still work if they detached it from Connor’s anomaly rover….
