Becker’s eyes narrowed dangerously at Lester’s words. “You need someone to lead the security teams who can actually do the job.”
“Sarah’s death was not your fault. She insisted on accompanying your team. If it’s anyone’s fault, it’s mine, for not stopping her.”
“I failed. She died.”
“I have no absolutely intention of taking this job on without your support.” Lester folded his arms. “I need you. The anomaly project needs you.”
Becker wasn’t the only one who could be bloody stubborn.
