Summary : Written for the Primeval100 challenge 471, The Thrill of the Chase
“Hart, break left!” Ryan yelled.
Stephen reacted immediately, flinging himself to the side of a large tree. The ground was wet and he stared to slide. Breaking his fall with one forearm, he came up onto his knees in a well-practised movement, his tranquiliser rifle raised.
The allosaurus lumbered past, unable to turn quickly.
How the creature had turned the tables on him, Stephen didn’t know but, his heart thumping in his chest and with the warm rush of adrenaline flooding through his system, he shot the creature in the arse.
Being the hunter not the hunted was definitely preferable.
