“It’s a Platypterygiinae ophthalmosaurid,” Connor announced with a flourish as Stephen and Lyle started to tow the stranded creature back to the anomaly.
In response to the look on Finn’s face, he added, “Grendelius, to you.”
“Come again?”
“Grendel, as in Beowulf.”
“Seen the film!” Finn exclaimed, then looked puzzled. “Didn’t look anything like a dolphin on steroids in the film, though.”
Connor rolled his eyes. “What have I told you about not believing everything you see on the telly, mate?”
“T. rex is Cretaceous not Jurassic,” Finn recited obediently.
Connor grinned at him. “You're getting the hang of this!”
