“It’s staring at me threateningly.”
“That’s her happy face!”
“Spiders do not have happy faces.”
“Shelob does.”
Ryan shuddered. “Hart, I can’t believe you’ve named the fucking spider. And for the record, I hated that bit in the film and the book.”
“But she thinks you’re her flatmate.”
“And here’s another one for the record: I’ve had some fucking awful flatmates in my times and she’s another one.”
Stephen grinned. He’d now got Ryan to think of the huge spider that had taken up residence in their bathroom as a female. But maybe he should have chosen a different name.
