“Nearly there…” Connor grabbed the last two wires and twisted them together. “And now we can see…”
His latest box of tricks let out a large bang and all the lights in the ARC promptly went out.
To his credit, Connor bit back whatever expletive was about to make a bid for freedom.
Lorraine awarded him nine out of ten for self-control, but two out of ten for his electrical engineering abilities.
“I presume that wasn’t meant to happen,” said the Home Secretary mildly.
“Probably not,” Lester conceded.
“What went wrong this time, James?”
“Never overlook the possibility of genius.”
