Lester glanced up at the clock.
It was already midnight and there was no point whatsoever in thinking about going home.
He couldn’t even be bothered to make his way to one of the bunkrooms. He hung his jacket up, tucked his tie into one of the pockets, toed his shoes off and settled down on the black leather sofa, pulling a cashmere blanket around him.
He liked the ARC at night, and even the heavy tread of military boots didn’t disturb him.
It was comforting to know that Ryan was still watching over him, even from beyond the grave.
