Captain Ross splashed water on his cheek and watched the wet blood drip down onto his filthy uniform.
Johnson wasn’t going to be happy when she got the news that he’d been unable to extract the artefact she set so much store by possessing.
The predators had been too numerous. His men had taken down plenty, but not enough.
He’d lost three men, not that Johnson would care. They were all disposable to her.
He patted his face dry on a paper towel then squirted on some antiseptic and pulled the wound together with steri-strips.
Time to face the dragon.
